The beauty world is an incredible place where you can become a different person like with a use of a magic wand. The beauty trends are changing with a blink of an eye, not speaking of the amount of beauty brands and products I have a hard time to keep up with.
When it comes to trends I have to admit that I´m trying to stick to the routine that works for me. I´m pretty stubborn to try new trends. I have very pale skin, dark eyes, and hair, so I have to be very careful to keep balance in my makeup.
So here are few beauty trends you definitely won´t see me trying:
- Contouring/Highlighting – The hot topic for a couple of years now. Honestly, when I see the perfectly contoured face everywhere on Instagram, I always think how they can put so many products on their faces and still look amazing. I´m trying to stick to the motto “Less is more”, so I´m saying no to this trend.
- Bold brows – Another trend everyone´s doing, except for me. I´m not against the perfect arched and filled brows, but mine are full already. I prefer natural look brushed with a bit of brow gel for some polished shape.
- Baking – to be honest, I really don´t understand this trend. I hope I´m not the only one. Beauty products and makeup are high quality now. Foundations are so perfect that you don´t have to even use a setting powder because it sets like it´s your second skin. So if I´m missing something, please explain.
- Crazy colored eyes/eyeliners – the ’90s are gone but crazy colored eyes and eyeliners are still here. I can´t even imagine stepping on the street with this kind of makeup. If it´s anyone´s way to express themselves, then it´s fine, but I´ll rather stay at my classics – brown hues, pinks and champagnes.
- Fur/pierced nails
- Faux freckles
- Lip overlining
- Glitter hair
The last four trends are without comments because the only thing that´s on my mind about them is “Why?”. I mean all those trends are usually temporary or seasonal, and they are beautiful on runway models, but most people won´t apply them in real life. So wouldn´t I, because I wouldn´t feel and look like myself.
What are beauty trends that you are not into?
