Hello guys, good news! I have survived the first week of my No Sugar Challenge! To describe you how it went during this week, it was pretty rough. I haven´t posted a single post, because I was feeling so SO bad. Right on Monday I had such bad headache. Actually I had headaches almost everyday of this week. And I can´t help myself with any medications, because I´m still breastfeeding my boy.
I didn´t take this challenge to extremes. I was trying to take a bit of “sugar” every day. For example on Monday it was an apple with peanut butter. Or a cup of tea with a teaspoon of honey and lemon. Well, it doesn´t satisfy my sweet tooth on 100 %, but it´s better than nothing. But otherwise the rest of week went pretty well. After two days cravings vanished, but on Saturday my baby had his first birthday, so my mum baked him an amazing birthday cake. So I had a bit. This whole thing reminds me something like rehab. Maybe like an alcoholic who needs a shot or a bottle. The body needs it (I can´t compare, I have never been drunk). But I think it´s the same with the sugar. I ate that tiny piece of cake and the next day I was craving sugar like crazy.
About my feelings, I feel quite fine, but a bit fatigue. And actually I found myself eating smaller portions of meals as I did before. I have lost like 3 lbs. and I have noticed a little improvement on my facial skin. I hope I will make it through the next three weeks, because I really look forward to get to that point, where you feel more energized and to experience the natural glow on my skin.
Although I still crave the sweets, I am still able to say no. If you are following the challenge with me or planning on doing your own challenge, try to eat a lot of veggies and drink tons of water. It will help you stay on track.
Thank you all for reading my blog and I hope you come back again to check my Week 2 update.
